Cranberry sauce with orange juice is a popular Thanksgiving and Christmas side dish. The combination of tart cranberries and sweet orange juice creates a delicious balance of flavors. The orange juice also helps to sweeten the sauce and add a citrus note.

  • Total Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

Instructions:

  1. Rinse cranberries and pick out any stems or spoiled berries.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine orange juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using). Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add cranberries to the saucepan and return to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature before serving.
