Rinse cranberries and pick out any stems or spoiled berries.
In a medium saucepan, combine orange juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using). Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
Add cranberries to the saucepan and return to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature before serving.
